ANNUAL VILLAGE REMEMBRANCE SERVICE
This annual service took place again in Five Wents Hall at 10.50 a.m on the morning  of Sunday 13 November 2016. It was led by our local vicar Ray Sammé who has just retired from
his official duties in the parish. The service has become a popular event in the calendar with a large crowd attending. Local organisations were represented by the Royal British Legion, the Air Training Corps and Scouts. Our local Parish Council supported and took part in the service.
Commemorative Wreaths were laid in front of the Memorial Plaque which will be temporarily displayed outside the hall. Thanks to the Trustees for organising and arranging the refreshments at the end of the service. Photos from this year displayed below.

KENT COUNTY COUNCILLOR

Our local councillor for Hextable and Swanley Robert Brookbank sadly died in August after suffering declining health in recent years. He was tireless and diligent in pursuing local interests, a very gracious man. His replacement following the election on 13  October 2016 is
Michael Horwood whose contact details are shown on our Community Pages. We wish him well in serving our community.

HEALTH EVENT

Patient Voice in tandem with the Oaks Surgery in Swanley ran another Health Event this year in the Clocktower Pavilion, next to the Alexandra Suite in St Marys Road Swanley on Tuesday 20 September 2016. The speakers and presentations were excellent together with the supporting information on the stands. It is hoped this will have been of great benefit to those attending.
