The morning of Saturday 20 July fixed for the Fun Run in Hextable Park turned out wet with heavy showers soaking the helpers
setting up the course. The sky looked threatening at first but surprisingly stayed dry all through from 9 a,m to noon. The apparatus and obstacles were successfully set up across the field. Many excited children arrived with their parents to take part. The enthusiasm for this event came from Jimmy Vaughan, a local resident and his family. Jimmy became the hare to lead the children off around the course. Thankfully there were no injuries requiring St John Ambulance attendants to give assistance. This is definitely something that can be repeated. Some photos are posted below.
