The 12 th annual walk around the boundary of our parish of Hextable on Saturday 14 September 2019 took place on a brilliantly sunny morning. An enthusiastic group of residents and friends set out from St Peters Church at just after 10 a.m walking along College Road to the Avenue of Limes and then by the side of the Park to reach the footpath leading to Stanhill Fam fields. Coming out to the schools and then walking along Top Dartford Road the group reached Fens Farm field where it was decided to take the footpath down to Lower Road. This was a shortcut to avoid the stiles across the field from Goss Hill at the top of the village but with the problem of avoiding stinging nettles by the side of the fence instead. The route continued to the footpath up the hill opposite Durant Road (with excellent views of the village), to pass the copse at the summit to come out to Swanley Village Road and returning to the church along the main road from the Five Wents junction.
Thanks to Andy and Christine Proudlove wearing high viz. jackets for leading the walk and seeing us safely across the roads en route.
Hope to see everyone again next year. Some photos shown below.
