This annual walk will take place on Saturday the 9th September starting at the Heritage Centre in College Road at 10:00 a.m.
It will be lead by Ken Grist and will cover the route around the village as close a possible to the parish boundary.
For those new to this event, we start off by walking up the Avenue of Limes crossing over to the edge of Swanley Park then, after coming out onto College Road, join the footpath through to the fields of Stanhill Farm. We will take a short comfort stop when we come to St. Davids Road at the phone mast.
Ken's house is close by so for those who feel they cannot manage the full route can break off here.
We continue by walking past the schools and up the main road to Goss Hill.
If there are no horses in the field, we will go down the waymarked footpath to Lower Road otherwise by the footpath alongside Herbert Road.
We then go up the path alongside the farmers fields to Anthony Lane and out on to Swanley Village Road.
At the bottom of the hill, when we come out to Five Wents Hall, we have the choice of two routes.
We can return to the Heritage Centre by walking up to New Barn Road to the Avenue of Limes, or the safer way of going along the main road to Egerton Avenue and back that way.
Walkers should wear suitable clothing and footwear and be mindful of the need for care whilst crossing roads etc.
A bottle of water and some first aid for cuts and stings would be useful to have as well.
